Description:

Student will primarily work in the Archaeology Repository on SUU campus, but may also be needed at events off-campus. Weekly tasks will include scanning documents, entering data into a spreadsheet, photographing artifacts, organizing archaeological collections, and other tasks associated with collections management. Additional tasks associated with this position will include:

  • Development of archaeological displays on campus or around Iron County
  • Creating an archaeobotanical seed reference collection
  • Assisting with community education programs and teacher workshops

Qualifications:

A successful candidate for this position will have:

  • Experience in archaeology field methods, artifact analysis, and archaeology public education (specifically Project Archaeology)
  • The ability to work independently on tedious tasks with attention to detail
  • The personality to positively engage the public for educational programs
