Description:
Student will primarily work in the Archaeology Repository on SUU campus, but may also be needed at events off-campus. Weekly tasks will include scanning documents, entering data into a spreadsheet, photographing artifacts, organizing archaeological collections, and other tasks associated with collections management. Additional tasks associated with this position will include:
- Development of archaeological displays on campus or around Iron County
- Creating an archaeobotanical seed reference collection
- Assisting with community education programs and teacher workshops
Qualifications:
A successful candidate for this position will have:
- Experience in archaeology field methods, artifact analysis, and archaeology public education (specifically Project Archaeology)
- The ability to work independently on tedious tasks with attention to detail
- The personality to positively engage the public for educational programs
